Parkinson's UK

I worked as an editor for this leading medical charity for 10 months, covering maternity leave.

I researched and wrote information booklets on complex medical matters for both a lay audience and for healthcare professionals. All booklets complied with the Department of Health's Information Standard, an accreditation scheme that ensures health information is relevant, accurate and up to date. This required a rigorous referencing, client feedback and peer review process.

In addition to writing information booklets, I contributed to membership magazine The Parkinson and Parkinson's UK website.

I also commissioned photoshoots, organised interviews, and updated library images.

Update: Preparing for End of Life was highly commended at the BMA Medical Book and Patient Information Awards 2013

IPC Advertorials

I freelanced at IPC advertorial department from 2012-2013, writing and editing advertorials for a diverse range of consumer titles such as Chat, Homes & Gardens, Living etc and Marie Claire.

Working to a brief from blue chip clients including P&G, John Lewis and Ikea I produced sparkling copy on everything from hair colour to kitchens.
