Parkinson's UK
I worked as an editor for this leading medical charity for 10 months, covering maternity leave.
I researched and wrote information booklets on complex medical matters for both a lay audience and for healthcare professionals. All booklets complied with the Department of Health's Information Standard, an accreditation scheme that ensures health information is relevant, accurate and up to date. This required a rigorous referencing, client feedback and peer review process.
In addition to writing information booklets, I contributed to membership magazine The Parkinson and Parkinson's UK website.
I also commissioned photoshoots, organised interviews, and updated library images.
Update: Preparing for End of Life was highly commended at the BMA Medical Book and Patient Information Awards 2013

GE Fabbri (now Eaglemoss Collections)
Prior to jumping back into the freelance pool in July 2011, I was Editorial Project Manager for GE Fabbri, an international partwork company specialising in licensed gift and magazine collections. My remit was to produce creatively-led children's series for the UK and other territories, including Russia. I worked with major licensors including DreamWorks (Shrek and Madagascar), Nickelodeon (Dora the Explorer), and Twentieth Century Fox (Ice Age).
Here's a selection of titles I developed that made it to the bookstand (or kiosk, as in most of Eastern Europe):
